To all UERM aspirants

It's the start of the so-called med school hunting season again. It has been a while since I've seen so much aspirants vying for acceptance into a med school of their choice. Most aspiring students would vie for a slot into top schools such as UST, UP, CIM, and a lot more.

I'm here to post to you an unofficial endorsement of UERM. It's not because I'm a UERM student, but I believe in the system and quality of education UERM delivers to its students.

I admit UERM's facilities are not that much "at par" with better-equipped schools, but regardless of the old school materials and gadgets, the school still provides A-grade quality education to its students. A good proof of it is the good board performance it brings (Top 10 Performing Schools in the Country) and its countless number of board topnotchers.

I have been studying for 2 years in UERM, but even though the place kinda looks old and rugged, I still would like to invite you, the applicant into the university. The style of teaching in UERM is an integrated type: PBL mixed with Traditional classroom lectures. This gives the student ample time to read and study at his/her own pace while attending lectures and participating in activities that are related to the topics/lectures.

Social life in UERM is great. You get to gain a lot of friends and spend good times with them. Choose your friends wisely in med school, and I assure you that these friends of yours that you will gain will be with you for a very long time, provided you don't spoil the beans and ruin what you have started.

Going to the topic at hand, admission into UERM is a strict and rigid process. During our time, the NMAT requirement was just 55%. This time, the requirement is 70%, a true fact that the university is now considering itself a a top-par school that can match itself with the best. There are conducted interviews by the admissions committee before being considered for admission. It is in the style of the student on how to answer the interviewer's questions. Answer wisely (and maybe put some humor into it) and you might just secure yourself a ticket inside.

Scholarships are given to Latin honorees and NMAT top scorers. Financially needy students who are deserving of scholarships are also considered. The school gives out scholarships like candy to those deserving ones: that explains why the school looks plain. :)) But nonetheless, the giving out of scholarships proves to show the school's recognition towards the deserving few whom the school believes to be future topnotchers when the board exams arrive.

If you have any concerns regarding this year's admission requirements, or if you want to ask any questions, refer to this website:

The upper batch people will be willing to answer any query that you may wish to ask. ;)

We hope to see you next year in UERM!

  1. Hi! I've been randomly searching for blogs which could give me insights about UERM. Your post has been very enlightening. I'm planning to submit my application for SY 2012-2013 there. What are my chances of being accepted? BSN grad, NMAT 78, GWA 89%? Thank you! :)
